Patient Care Technician
Summary:
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for assisting healthcare personnel with basic patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical center. The PCT also aids in clerical duties including answering phones, preparing patient charts, and scanning paper medical records.
Essential Functions:
The PCT will assist in preparing patients for procedures/surgery in the preoperative area which includes identifying the patient and escorting them to their bay, having them get changed, instructing on the use of Sage wipe, applying EKG leads/BP cuff/pulse ox, taking and recording vital signs, performing pregnancy test, performing blood glucose test, applying pneumatic compression boots, and applying oxygen tubing.
Assist in ambulating patients
Performs E-faxing of operative records
Scans paper medical records into EMR
Escorts discharged patients from recovery to their vehicle
Contains knowledge of and the ability to perform duties in accordance with established standards as set forth in ASC’s policies and procedures
Adheres to strict Universal Precautions and Blood-Borne Pathogens protocol
Assists in maintaining a safe and aseptic environment for patient and staff
Use, protect, and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) in accordance with Health Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Follow all United Medical policies, uphold professional standards, and perform work responsibilities in a manner that is respectful to others
Perform other responsibilities as needed
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Patient Care Technician Certification preferred
Nursing Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Certification required if no PCT Certification
Current BLS Certification preferred
Previous ambulatory surgical experience preferred
Ability to read, write and speak the English language
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians and other health care workers
PreOp/PACU Nurse
Summary/Objective
The primary role of the PACU/Pre-op Nurse is to provide continuity of care to meet individual patient needs. This role entails assuming responsibility and accountability of the patient with proper collaboration from other health care providers. The ability to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The post-anesthesia care unit nurse (PACU nurse) will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-Time positions are available. We offer Monday - Friday shifts with NO weekends and NO holidays.
Preop can range from 5:00am-1:30pm and as late as 6:30am-3:00pm.
PACU can range from 7:30am-4:00pm and as late as 12:00pm-8:30pm.
Preferred Education and Experience
RN License in the State of Delaware
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
BLS
ACLS- possess/obtain within 3 months of hire
1 year direct experience in ambulatory surgery experience
Surgical Technologist
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for providing support to the surgeon during the operative procedure by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field.
Maintains proficiency and knowledge of surgeon’s needs, techniques, and requirements at all times in the scrub or CSR role
Processes and cares for specimens and cultures as directed by set policies
Possesses knowledge of anesthetic agents, techniques, actions and interactions
Delivers care according to established organizational goals and objectives
Maintains surgical instruments in good working condition
Processes and sterilizes instruments and equipment according to manufacturer’s and AMII recommendations
Replenish sterile supplies as needed
Assists in ordering supplies, maintaining inventories, and storing supplies appropriately.

Walking (8-10) hours, standing (3-8) hours, bending and sitting (occasionally)
The employee must be able to lift and or carry over 20 pounds as well as push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
